We’ve decided to get married on the beautiful island of Malta.
2 weeks before the wedding I broke my leg and had to go through the entire wedding ceremony like “Captain Morgan” with a use of modern walking devise, a space boot and a boat load of prescription painkillers.

For the first time in my adult life, I was crying… I really was crying … I cried not because I was in excruciating pain – I can take that – I was crying because I did not know how to face my beautiful girl, the love of my life, my true soulmate, and my best friend and tell her that I can not walk…
I cried because I let my partner down… I cried because she did not deserve that… I cried because I knew how devastated she would be when she get to know what happened.
The look on her face, when she got to know about the bad news will haunt me for the rest of my life… I will never forget her eyes… I could hear teardrops breaking against the floor… She did not scream, she did not nag, she did not shout…
She was just standing there in disbelief looking through me with her eyes wide-open… I could see how her dream wedding was getting shuttered in front of her eyes… It lasted eternity…
The first thing that she said in a soft voice was, “How are YOU”? You must be in terrible pain. Let me drive you to the doctors”.
We did not talk in the car.
The doctors told us that if I, accidentally, step on the broken foot even once, I would need a major surgery followed by months of recovery… They put my leg into a temporary cast, gave me crotches, and made an appointment for a final opinion.
On the way back home Marina suddenly stopped the car, looked me in the eye, and said, “You know what?!!! — FU*K IT !!! — We’ll make it work! I don’t know how, but I KNOW FOR SURE that we WILL have the best wedding ever”.
She smiled at me and squeezed my hand very very hard. Her hand was warm. I could feel her love and her energy. I could feel how two of us, within a split second became ONE again. … And when we became ONE we became UNSTOPPABLE.
We were back on track. Within a few days of endless searches and researches, Marina found my BOOT and I found my “LEG”.
It took me 2 endless weeks of “walking” around the block to produce positive results.
By the end of the second week I, finally, got used to the iWalk – a walking device that saved my wedding.
I fell down soo many times, that Marina was jokingly saying, “You fall on your face – you’re a dead man.”

Don’t get me wrong, I was still losing balance once in a while, but I was, finally able to move around without crutches.

Good thing – I did gymnastics when I was little – helped a lot in the process.
Our wedding was not just a wedding – it was a celebration of TRUE LOVE, TRUE FRIENDSHIP, TRUE LIFE. It was also an example of what TRUE SOULMATES are capable of achieving when they stick together.
